The Lignum Microwood Tees are available in four different tee sizes to give a choice to all players and to support as many play conditions as possible. The Lignum Tee was first introduced in 2002 during Golf Europe. The height control ring system, innovative design with the anti-spin head and the material has become the signature features of the Lignum Tee. It is has become the most popular tees amongst golfers and over five million golfers in more than twenty counties are using it.
The Lignum Tees are the only kind to use a Microwood material. Lab test suggest that neither synthetic materials, nor natural wood could provide the required levels of flexibility, stability and sturdiness, so Microwood was created. It is based on wood fibre and natural adhesive giving it high levels of both stability and flexibility. They are good for the environment, as they largely utilise wood particles, which are a drop off from lumbar processing, meaning no trees are cut down unnecessarily.
The anti-spin surface feels smooth, silky and comfortable; however, the contact of the golf ball with the new material creates a reduced backspin rate, which creates a larger distance, which is an important practical advantage.
